friends + listeners!
what a pleasure the last nine months have been. after retiring my last year-long project of reviewing and seeing as many shows as i could in a one month span- i wanted to sit down with those artists, pick their brains, and see how we could knowledge-share enough to help each other get ahead. i got the pleasure of sitting down with eighteen of my friends and colleagues and spent time with them in my home, in theirs, on porches, in living rooms, drinking wine, drinking champagne, drinking beer, and even scotch. it's been a hoot.
my goal was to extend this project through 2015 and retire it with the turn of 2016. i had a unique opportunity to accomplish so many of these interviews with ease this year as i have not been involved in a full production since fall of 2014. i am now halfway through a rehearsal schedule for the chicago mammals' ALL GIRL DRACULA and my week days are spent in a black box on the northside- leaving me little to no time outside of that to sit down with fellow artists and talk the biz.
we're busy. we're tired. we spend the dollars we don't have to support our friends. we're happy. we're loud. we're disappointed sometimes. we embrace each other. we lose with each other. we win with each other. we cheer. we high five. we're jealous. we're angry. we wish, we want, we desire. we're a community. i hope you hear that through those episodes.
i decided to cease we're here and am sharing the interviews with each artist who took the time to sit down with me. thank you for those of you who tuned in, left comments, downloaded episodes and took out ads. it has been a pleasure.
you can find me not only in the mammals' AGD as well as future endeavors, but also performing and curating around town with my husband dustin in our newly formed company wirehouse co.
thanks, everyone!
on to the next adventure.
